i love this island
we just went last september and i'm already itching to go again
if you go anytime soon please visit the following:
arlo and esme for coffee in the lower east side
mcsorleys to visit the oldest bar in america
they have light or dark beer
those are the only choices
and if you order a cheese plate you get
white cheese, sliced raw onions and saltines in the sleeve
(pictured above)
it's a manly place
grimaldis in brooklyn if you want pizza
but it wasn't the best ever
but maybe you will think it is
but you have to stand in line
which is kind of cool
dos caminos for the guac
if you do nothing else just please do this
it is AMAZING
and if you can't make it to nyc to try it
i found the recipe online
halals for the best street food on the island
it's near the apple store
you'll have to wait in line
and it will be cheap
and soooo worth it
rent a paddleboat in central park at the loeb boathouse
touristy? maybe
but worth the risk of letting them know your not a native
its a tapas bar with beautiful chandeliers
get the scallops and a mojito
delish
they meet in multiple locations all over the island
at different times on sunday
tim keller is the rocking pastor
sarabeths in the upper west side
for the best brunch food of your life
and they serve you sweet tea
in a mini jar
cute
this secret park right across the bridge in brooklyn
(if you go to grimaldis you can walk here)
pam real thai for thai iced tea
and panang curry
and finally trailor trash for burgers, fries and tots
and to feel like your at home in south carolina
thanks to my friend tara-leigh
who lived on this island and told the husband and i lots of yummy places to go
