easy peasy pot roast


we dont make pot roast a lot
but we should 
cause its so easy
and delicious

 

heres what you do
go buy a 2 or 3 or 4 pound chuck roast
with good marbling
cause marbling (lines of fat) = flavor

also buy dry onion soup mix
a can of beef broth (low sodium)
and whatever veggies you want
i chose baby carrots, red potatoes, and vidalia onions

then you come home 
put rock salt and cracked pepper all over the meat
turn your pan on high
and sear it for 2 minutes on each side
until it gets nice and brown
brown = yummy


after you take the meat out of the pan
throw come chopped onions in there 
so that they can use the brown bits from the meat

 

dont cook them all the way
just get them a little bit brown

then put the beef broth and soup mix in the crock pot
and put the meat in
chop the veggies
and pile them in
then cook for 8 or 9 or 10 hours

and serve with rice

you will feel like you live on a farm

 

like the pioneer woman
(i sort of made this pot roast like she makes hers)

it is awesome
